Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, believe that baptism is a way to show commitment to Jesus Christ. In this religion, a child is baptized at age 8. This milestone is often documented through a baptism photography session. As a baptism photographer in Utah County, here are a few things you can do to prepare for your baptism session.

Choose a location for baptism photography
A popular location for baptism photography is at a temple. With over 20 temples to choose from in the state, there are a lot of options! In Utah County and the surrounding areas, my favorite temples are:
Mount Timpanogos
Draper
Oquirrh Mountain
Provo City Center
These baptism photography images were taken at the Mount Timaponogos Temple and they turned out beautifully! Other popular summer locations for baptism photography include Three Falls Trailhead and Albion Basin. The wildflowers create the perfect backdrop to these sweet sessions.

How to prepare for your baptism photography session
Baptism photography sessions are some of my favorite sessions because you get to focus on just one child. All you will need to prepare is a white dress for girls or a suit for boys. Wearing nice Sunday dress shows the importance of the ordinance these little ones are participating in. Additional props may include, a copy of the scriptures and a CTR ring. These represent what we believe and what we are promising to do through baptism.
