Winter Engagement Session | Jordan Pines

Winter is an excellent time for an engagement session. At Jordan Pines, the bright snow + pine trees create the perfect romantic backdrop. Jordan Pines campground is close to Brighton ski resort, about 45 minutes from Utah County. The campground is closed for the winter, but you can still access the parking lot and walk up to the campground.

How to prepare for your session

There are a few things you can do to prepare for your winter session. First, dress for the occasion. The average temperature in Utah for the winter months is well below freezing. You need to dress for cold weather! Beanies, gloves, coats, scarves, earmuffs and most of all layers are a necessity. Consider wearing a base layer underneath your clothes to keep you nice and warm. Don’t worry, you’ll be doing a ton of snuggling and hugging to keep each other warm.

Bring props to your engagement session

Next, bring props for your winter engagement session. Hot cocoa, blankets and a sled are all excellent options. Bringing props gives you something to do, which adds interest to your session. These props make it possible to focus on storytelling, like I’m just tagging along on a romantic winter date.

Be playful

One of my favorite things about this session was how much the couple genuinely enjoyed being together. They had a snowball fight, made snow angels and took a sled ride down the hill. All of these things together made for a playful and enjoyable session. Engagement sessions not only showcase your relationship but they also tell your story as a couple. As you can see, this couple is fun loving and adventurous, as well as crazy in love with each other.
