Fall is one of the most popular times to take family photos–including fall mini sessions. Mini sessions are short and sweet, which can be great for small families. The short time makes it easy for littles to tolerate. Fall mini sessions happen right before the craziness of the holidays, but in enough time to get your photos back before sending out Christmas cards. Hidden Valley Park is an excellent location for October because the leaves are beautiful + the park is easily accessible.

How to make the most of your fall mini session
There are a lot of things that you can do to make the most of your fall mini session.
- Be on time! I usually stack my mini sessions back to back, so make sure you’re on time (or even early) for our time together.
- Frame it as an adventure for your kids. Make sure they know they’re going to play together with their family. Instead of bringing treats to bribe your kids to smile, plan a fun outing for after your mini session. Plan to go get ice cream, play at the park or watch a movie together. This keeps the energy high with your kids!
- Be in the moment. Try not to worry about how the pictures will turn out (that’s my job!) and just focus on loving your family. These images are a perfect example when you’re completely in the moment. Mama is just loving on these baby boys, creating memories that will last a lifetime!
- Dress accordingly. Fall can be unpredictable, so dress in layers to accommodate the changing weather. Check out my What to Wear guide for other suggestions on how to outfit your family.

October is also my busiest month, so don’t hesitate to reach out about photos well in advance of the fall season. I’d love to work with you so check out my website to contact me!
