Dreamy SLC engagement session in Weller Book Works
Showcase your love for each other + shared passion for reading. A bookstore engagement session is like stepping into your own romantic novel—except this time, you’re the main characters! The warm glow of reading lamps, the scent of freshly printed pages, and the occasional sound of pages turning make for the dreamiest backdrop. Whether you’re reenacting a meet-cute in the fiction aisle or just basking in your bookish bliss, this session is a perfect way to tell your own love story.
Last year, I had a couple approach me about an engagement session. But not just any engagement session, they wanted to take pictures in a bookshop. Say less! The bride and groom are both obsessed with reading and wanted to showcase that shared passion with a photoshoot. Our session took place at Weller Book Works in SLC. We loved this location because of the antique books and the Beauty and the Beast ladder–it doesn’t get any better than this!
How to prep for your session
If you are taking pictures inside of a business, you need to get permission from store employees. Weller Book Works does allow photography + doesn’t charge for shooting indoors. They do request that you are mindful of other shoppers.
Next, you need to coordinate your outfits. I love neutral colors, especially when the environment is so vibrant. This blue, gray + white color palette is perfect to showcase the fun environment of your SLC engagement session. If you don’t know what to wear, check out my what to wear guide. Don’t overthink this step! Wear something that you feel comfortable in + focus on being in the moment with your boyfriend or girlfriend.
