Spring is one of the absolute best times for family photoshoots! And with that comes choosing the perfect spring photoshoot location. The long, cold winter is finally over and everything is greening up + the blossoms are starting to pop. It’s basically a photographer’s dream (well, my dream at least!). This year I had the privilege to shoot at a few new locations that I think make the perfect backdrop to your next family photoshoot.
#1 Rowley’s Red Barn in Santaquin
Rowley’s Red Barn is a fantastic location for your next spring photoshoot. I love it because it’s not crowded (no endless photoshopping or waiting for your spot by the blossoms) and it’s free to shoot in! The orchards are at their peak around later April to early May. Check out their instagram page for detailed updates about their blossom festival + projected blossom dates. Although the peak is different each year, April-May are some of the best times for family photoshoots at Rowley’s Red Barn. And as a bonus, they have amazing ice cream too! #2 Cook’s Farm and Greenhouse in Orem
You probably didn’t think that a greenhouse would make the list for best spring locations, but it really is a fantastic option for family photos. I love Cook’s Farm and Greenhouse because it’s warm and not subject to the crazy weather we sometimes get in Utah during the early spring months. The greenery is unparalleled and there are so many different parts of the greenhouse, getting variety is a breeze. See my recent maternity session at Cook’s Farm and Greenhouse here.
#3 Manning Orchard in Fruit Heights
Manning Orchard is another great option for spring family photos. For just $35, you receive access to the orchard + the surrounding areas. The beautiful trees are an excellent backdrop for your next spring photoshoot. The timing of blossoms can be tricky in the spring, but the peak should be around early to mid April each year.
Bonus favorite indoor spring photoshoot location
If you’re looking for an indoor spring photoshoot location, look no farther than White Space Studios in Sandy. You’ll stay warm and dry, which makes for much happier children! No need to worry about peak blossoms or unpredictable weather! Just come and enjoy the clean and homey feel of a studio session. I can’t recommend White Spaces enough!
