As a family photographer in Farmington, Utah I love doing lifestyle newborn sessions. Farmington lifestyle newborn sessions are special because it shows the way your life truly unfolds, without any stiff poses or extra props needed. And bonus! You don’t have to leave your own house for a lifestyle session. Read on to see if a lifestyle newborn session is right for you.

What is a lifestyle newborn session?
A lifestyle newborn session is an in-home full family session, with an emphasis on the new baby. I focus on observing the family just how they are, while giving minimal prompts. Yes, I’ll still guide you based on how you’ll look your best + make sure you don’t feel awkward. But we’ll be doing it from the comfort of your own home.

What if my house isn’t pinterest ready?
Ummmm….that’s perfect. I love houses that look like people LIVE there. Do you need to tidy? Yes. But only as if you had 10 minutes notice before your MIL stops by. I’m talking shove things in closets and hope for the best. I take the first few minutes before I start shooting to make sure the space is ready to go + clear out any unnecessary piles. Trust me, as a mom of 3, I know babies come with a lot of piles of stuff.

How do I decide which session type I want to do?
When it comes to newborn sessions, you’ve got a few options. If you want a raw and emotional look at the first few hours after birth, I’d recommend a fresh 48 session. Find more info on fresh 48 sessions on this blog post. If you want a more formal look, but still with natural posing, I’d recommend doing a studio newborn session. The main difference is a studio session requires you to leave your house, but you don’t have to clean your house (win, win!). Check out my newborn studio work on this blog post. If you want a homey, more personalized feel, I’d tell you to do an in-home lifestyle newborn session.

If you’re ready to book your session, contact me today! I take on a limited number of newborns per month so that I can serve you better.
