Salt Lake Micro Wedding

Micro weddings became popular during the COVID-19 pandemic and are here to stay. If you’re looking to have a micro wedding in Salt Lake, here are three things you need to know:

Attendance is limited

A wedding is considered a micro wedding when there are less than 50 people in attendance. I photographed this micro wedding in Salt Lake that included immediate family only, with just the bride and groom’s children and the groom’s parent’s in attendance. With only 8 people in attendance at this micro wedding, this ceremony felt intimate and personal in a way I’ve never seen before. It was such a beautiful experience to be included in.

The ceremony becomes more important than the party

Micro weddings allow you to focus on the things that you find most important. You cut out a lot to the fanfare of a wedding and pare it down to the most essential parts. The ceremony and vows take on a whole new meaning when just those few close family members are there to witness it. For this couple, having their children and parents in attendance was of greatest importance, and they were able to do that beautifully! The bride’s family was far away from where the ceremony was taking place, but joined over technology.

Location matters

Micro weddings can take place anywhere. This micro wedding in Salt Lake was at the couple’s home. With a few beautiful flower arrangements and a lovely cake, this small, intimate gathering was perfect. With the groom’s two daughters as flower girls, the bride walked down the aisle in her living room towards her groom. The first look was raw and real and the vows were beautifully exchanged. The ceremony was short and so beautiful it brought me to tears. Micro weddings can occur wherever is most meaningful to you. For this couple, it was the home they had just purchased together.
