Senior pictures in Highland, UT | What to expect for your session

What should I expect for my Highland senior photo session?

Location

Before our time together, I’ll ask you to choose a location that you love. Some of my most requested location are open fields, blossoms and pretty wildflowers. You can also think outside the box and do a more urban setting like downtown Provo (it has super awesome murals) or a library. These photos were taken at golden hour at the beautiful reception center Northampton House in American Fork, Utah.

What to bring

My senior sessions are 60 minutes long, with 2 outfit changes. I’ll always ask you which outfit you like the best + we’ll spend more time photographing that outfit. And don’t worry! I always bring this popup tent for quick changes. Things that you might want to consider bringing:

• Items that represent your extracurricular interests (volleyball, varsity jacket, trumpet, etc.)
• College hoodie to show what your next steps are
• Cap + gown, honors cords + stole. Anything that shows how hard you’ve worked these past years! And don’t worry, I know exactly how to pose you so you look great in a cap + gown.
• Sentimental jewelry or accessories that matter to you. Have a BFF necklace from your bestie? Bring it!
• Are you obsessed with swig? Bring your signature drink to our session

What to wear

This is the number one question I get when it comes to Highland senior photos. What should I wear? Here are a few basic guidelines:

• Wear something that you love. Don’t overthink it! If you have a favorite outfit that always makes you feel 10/10, wear it!
• Avoid clothing with logos or large patterns. These distract from the real star of the show, you!
• Wear clothing you can move in. My candid style of photography requires quite a bit of movement, so make sure you can do that easily. I’ll never forget the senior girl that I had who said these were “standing jeans only” when I asked her to sit.
• Neutral colors always photograph super well. The colors look great with most skin tones and don’t cast onto your skin as much
