Why Choose Utah for Indoor Photography?

When it comes to beautiful, creative portraits, Utah studio photography has a special place in my heart, and today I’m highlighting one of my favorite studios in the state. White Space studio has locations throughout Utah. The images featured in this post are taken in the east studio in the Provo studio around 10 AM in the middle of summer. Those details are super important when choosing which studio is best for your family.

Favorite Studio Location for Family Photos

When it comes to natural light photography, my favorite studio is White Space in Provo. The walls are a beautiful white color, the perfect neutral backdrop for your session. The studio comes equipped with all the furniture you could want to create a natural, homey environment. I love White Space for newborn sessions because it has a beautiful crib + small stools for younger kids. The studio also has couches and a variety of antique-looking chairs to add variety to your images.

How to prep for Utah studio session

When photographing small children, prep can make or break your session. Here are some useful tips to prepare for Utah studio photography:

• Get kids dressed on site. If your car is anything like mine, it’s filthy. And your kids will get filthy driving to your session because of it. So save yourself the headache and get them dressed at the studio. There is always a bathroom available for a quick change.
• Save the snacks for later. I love bribes BUT only after your shoot. I’d much rather you go get ice cream as a family after your shoot. I’ve seen many well-intentioned moms derail a session by trying to bribe too much during the photoshoot. Kids will whine more if you give them a sucker, then take it away for the photo, repeat x 12000. I do my best to make my sessions fun + kids do really well with me.
• Be on time. Studios have reservation windows that you cannot exceed. The hour you have booked is the hour that you have available. I promise, I’m very fast and we rarely need the full hour required for a session. You will still have plenty of time for your kids to get changed + warm up to me.
